The study identified several channel-level factors that are common to YouTube’s highest-ranking videos. The top-ranked videos come predominantly from established channels—their average age is 111 months (over 9 years) suggesting that channel credibility and history may play a role in the ranking algorithm.

The median for these channels is 520000 subscribers. In terms of channel type 63% of the top-ranked videos came from brand and organization pages while 37% were from personal channels.
